So, it's day 2 of the blogging challenge to write 30 posts in 30 days. Todays post is to
"Describe the meaning behind your blog name"
Well, when I decided to finally start blogging in July of this year I had no idea what to actually blog about. I did research in how to start up a blog etc and I also needed a name. I'd read that you should choose a name that easily shows what your blogging niche is.
I didnt give a shit about that.
I wanted something that was different and that hopefully people would think "I wonder where he got that from" when they saw the name.
Well dont worry I'm about to tell you.
I also had no idea what my niche was going to be, I dont know anything about anything so this was going to be tough. I was looking through Google to see if I could find images of my family crest, having no real luck I decided to double check the meaning of my first name, Richard. I already knew what it meant but I wanted to see what phrase was best to add into the title of my blog and domain name.
Richard means Powerful Ruler and as most of you might know, Dick is short for Richard.
That doesn't mean that I'm a dick.
So on the 2nd July 2016 "Dick The Powerful Ruler" was born into the blogosphere.
Now, after several months of blogging, I've settled on the fact that I'm generally writing a parenty/dad based blog. I could change the title of my blog to something else and just keep the domain name, which to me is no biggie.
I like to write about different things but all involve my life as a parent in some way. I never set out to make money for my blog and I haven't yet even contemplated how I would but if you see me rolling down the street in an Aston Martin you know you've been ruled by a powerful dick.
And ladies, please no "Oh I'd love to be ruled by a powerful dick" jokes please
That's a powerful ruler, I didn't think it was appropriate to put a picture of a.... never mind.
Thanks for reading, check in tomorrow for the day 3 challenge
Richie
