Perfect Plans

I'm not big on this whole "new year, new me" stuff. I never come up with new years resolutions, mainly because I know I won't stick to them. I have been thinking this year though I should really start to get a move on with some things that I want to do. Some are not really "resolutions", just more of a list really.

I'm writing this post so that it gives me a little bit of accountability to get them done. A few things are things that as a family we need to do to improve our life.

Perfect Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

That's the saying. I hope that at least writing this post, it will help me get there. So, what am I aiming for this year and beyond?

Toe chopped off.

Now, this title isn't exactly true, but it feels that way. I have an ingrown toenail which I've suffered with for the best part of a year. I finally went to docs in September to get the process started.

As of yesterday (7th Jan) I have now been and had the toenail removed and am sat in agony as I write this post. This is on the list because I need to make sure I follow all the instructions given to get my toe healed as quickly as I can as I really want to get back to the gym.

That brings me to the second thing on my list.

Mr Universe.

I need to get back to the gym once my toe is healed. I had stopped going to the gym regularly about 2 years ago and then resigned back up around June last year. I really got back into it until my toe started to play up. I also need to be healthier. I need to find some will power. Does eBay sell this?

I enjoy reading but last year I didn't read as many books as id have liked to. This year I want to try and read 24 books a month. I'll aim for the obvious 2 books a month. I'm currently rereading some books I've read by Tom Wood who writes about Victor the assassin. I love these books and want to read them all one after the other as I've read them over several years and forgotten a lot of the stories.

Sort Out The House.

We are looking to move house. We want to live in a quieter area. We know exactly where we want to be but the house prices are a lot more expensive than what we paid for our current house. We have to book a meeting regarding our mortgage soon so we can discuss it then. In the meantime, we have a few things around the house to get sorted out to make it a bit more appealing to potential buyers. Then we can put the house up for sale and hopefully move in a dream home.

Start a writing course.

I have signed up online to a few websites that offer a free course on writing a book. I just need to find the time to sit down and actually complete the course.

Write a book.

Id love to write my own book. I lack the confidence and knowledge at the moment to create a compelling story so the course will hopefully help this.

I also have an idea for some short stories that I aim to self publish on Amazon once they are written. I just need to get typing!

If I could just win the lottery so I didn't have to work then I'd have much more time to complete all these grand plans.

You're probably reading this thinking that it sounds a lot like theses are New Year's resolutions.

Well, they're not. They're not!

Have you made any "not New Year resolutions?" Let me know in the comments section below.
