It's pretty well known in my social circles that I'm a culinary master in the kitchen, so I thought I would share my "Man Style" rocky road recipe with you. I made this to go with the buffet we had for my sons 5th birthday this week. I didn't want to go the normal marshmallows and digestive biscuit route so I took it a step further.
Here are some quotes from my friends who tasted it:
"That was amaaazing!"
"oh that was so good thank you"
"That was f***ing brilliant!"
As you can see from the photo above the ingredients are minimal and pretty straight forward to get ahold of. You will need the following:
2 packets of Oreos
500g of chocolate (whatever type you prefer)
4 Jammie wagon wheels (Original flavour doesn't count as there rubbish)
1 Tablespoon of butter
1 Teaspoon of Maple Syrup
Now we get the method:
Firstly, get a Pyrex dish and line it with parchment paper to so it's easier for the rocky road to come out once it's ready. Then get a pan and then a large bowl that will fit in the pan, leave enough space underneath the bowl for some water. Put water into the pan and start to heat. After a few minutes put your butter and chocolate into the pan. Whilst it's melting chop up your Jammie Wagon Wheels, remember original Wagon Wheels suck so don't buy them! Break up your Oreos at the same time, in half and half again will suffice.
Stir your chocolate in the pan and you should see it starting to melt.
Once it has pretty much all melted pop your Jammie Wagon Wheels and Oreos into the pan and stir through until the chocolate has covered the Wagon Wheels and Oreos, at this point, you can add the Maple Syrup and stir through. Once you have stirred it through you can empty it into your Pyrex dish. Level it out so it fills the whole dish. Then place in the fridge for 2 hours until hardened. After two hours you can serve, sit back and listen to the plaudit that will inevitably come your way.
Cooking Tip
Do not try and melt the chocolate for too long as one it hits a certain temperature it will start to harden. This happened to me so I had to quickly pop my other ingredients in and hope for the best. How did this happen to you if your such a culinary master I hear you ask? Well, I may have slightly exaggerated my expertise in the kitchen. Either way, it was still delicious and it hardened enough that the other ingredients stuck together. Nobody else noticed when they were eating it anyway so I totally got away with it.
